I was thinking about writing something grandiose, something epic designed to inspire you to go to the polls on Tuesday May 13th to vote for your representatives on the Paterson City Council. I thought to write about the blood that was shed to give us this wonderful right to vote, a right not shared by our friends in such varied countries like China, Saudi Arabia or our Latin compatriots in Cuba. I thought about the sacrifices made by thousands of young people who organized marches and demonstrations in Jim Crow’s South, participated in sit-ins and in the process, rallied many more to their cause.
I thought and came to this conclusion…
No long epic treatise will be written nor an exhaustive explanation of why you should vote.
I share only the following simple request: get out there and VOTE. Do it for your city. Do it for your community. Do it for your family’s future and for your own. Paterson, the time is now. Get out there and VOTE!
Polls are open from 6am to 8pm.

Lets vote for the most qualified canidates. For example, you guys really dont see anything fishy with Mr. Tavarez running for office in the 5th ward after only living there a little over a year. Think about it, does he know enough about the 5th ward? Last term Virtudes Sanshez ran against Torres, yet uneducated people voted for her. She is a nice lady, and I am sure Mr. Tavarez is a good guy himself. But, please these people are not qualified. They are really not. So, please I ask you guys do your research and vote for the most qualifed canidate. That is the only way, Paterson will move on. I know the old saying, “its who you know, not what you know.” If we vote like that, Paterson is not moving foward. Thanks!

Julio Tavarez- will make a difference in the 5th ward. He is a good person and cares for the pople in Paterson. please trust he will do an amazing job. I am very proud of being his friend. He will make a difference in the community.. Sit back and watch.

I must say I am very proud of Julio and from personal experience know he will be a great leader in the Paterson community have a little faith Paterson and watch the city prevail. I love you Julio and please know how proud your success has made our family. Good Luck!
