After months of campaigning, walking tirelessly door to door in many neighborhoods and reaching out to the voters of Paterson, Election Day has come and gone and there are new faces on the City Council. Sincere congratulations are offered to the following: Anthony Davis, Aslon Goow Sr, William McKoy, Vera Ames-Garnes, Julio Tavarez and Andre Sayegh.

Personally, I want to single out Julio Tavarez. I know Julio for several years now and have a great deal of respect and admiration for him. I know he will be a tireless advocate for the people of the 5th Ward. Despite the many personal and frivolous attacks made by his opponent, Julio remained focused on the issues facing the 5th Ward and offered fresh and genuine solutions. Congratulations Julio!
