Burglar Roams Passaic County Courthouse Complex

PATERSON — Officials said a burglar broke into a ground-floor window and entered the Passaic County Courthouse complex about 11:30 p.m. Saturday.

County Sheriff’s Department spokesman Bill Maer said surveillance video showed the suspect was in the new courthouse, the old courthouse and the annex building for “a little over an hour.” There’s also evidence he entered the adjacent Administration Building.

Officials said the suspect made off with a bulletproof vest, a pair of sunglasses, an undetermined amount of loose change, one package of noodles and 25 plastic spoons.

The county Sheriff’s Department, which is responsible for security at the courthouse, didn’t comment on whether there are guards or an alarm
