The Black and Gold Idol Competitions kicked off at Passaic Community College last week. More than 200 people were present to see Paterson's most talented young men and women compete to be the Black and Gold Idol!

The Black & Gold Idol is a vocal, soloist talent competition, which is sponsored by the Delta Mu Lambda Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc of Paterson, NJ. On Saturday, January 19, 2008 the Delta Mu Lambda Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. celebrated "A Night Over Egypt." The fundraising event took place at the Excelsior in Saddle Brook and proceeds will be used to continue providing services to the community and awarding scholarships to deserving students.

Marc A. Medley is a professional educator in the Paterson School District. While he did not begin his career in education, Marc is not new to teaching. He spent 15 years with AT&T in its consumer marketing organization and in many instances served as a facilitator for corporate classes.
